LawWare grows from Strength to Strength

New recruit - Kenny McKie

LawWare are delighted to announce that Kenny McKie has joined the Edinburgh team in the position of Product Consultant.

Kenny’s background with competitor systems LawPro and LEAP means he joins with a ready appreciation of practice, case & risk management systems for Scottish Law firms and this was a major attraction says LawWare Sales Director - Simon Greig. “Whilst all software systems are different at the point of delivery there are some common objectives such as; efficient working, ease of access to information and enhanced management information - so I was always confident that Kenny would get up to speed quickly. His enthusiasm and professionalism were obvious from the first instance and cemented the decision to get him on board as soon as possible”.

Kenny adds “I was obviously well aware of LawWare’s place in the market, and how highly thought of and respected the company is. To be invited to join the team is a fantastic opportunity. LawWare is without a doubt the name that most Solicitors think of when it comes to software for their firm and as a former competitor, I can vouch for that. Now that I am seeing the software and the results that can be achieved by the LawWare team, I understand why”.

Simon continues “as LawWare continue to grow I was getting stretched and the timing of Kenny’s arrival is perfect. He brings a valuable resource, particularly in the West, and will be advising clients and prospective clients about the advantages of using LawWare software to achieve benefits for firms, their staff and their clients”.

Office 365 - A view on the UK legal sector (Dec 14)

An article by Microsoft on Office 365 for UK legal.

Law Society Journal Online (Dec 14)

A changing landscape - Article on Cloud.

SDLT Changes - October 2014hmrc

Notification of SDLT requirement

Just a reminder for LawWare/LawCloud clients that there is a small but important change/addition to the questions needing to be answered when submitting SDLT returns from 1st October 2014.

There is a new field to be completed – LA Code. This stands for Local Authority Code and is a unique 4 digit number for each of the local authorities in the UK, including some authorities that no longer exist to cope with late submissions.

The LA Code is required for all SDLT1’s, SDLT3’s and SDLT4’s.

A comprehensive list of codes is available from HMRC website at this address -

It is a substantial list so a copy and paste in to Word would allow you to streamline it to meet your more local requirements. I have done this for Scottish Local Authorities; so if anyone wants this please email me  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
